Why did you choose your industry?I like getting to know people and their stories. I also think stories spark empathy, and empathy is the only way to make real change.
Who are your typical clients?Small businesses that are dedicated to sustainability. They typically focus on B2C.
What do you like best about being in this industry?The people! Everyone is wonderfully dedicated to a greater cause than themselves.
What are common problems you see?Greenwashing (lying about doing good) and green hushing (not sharing the good you are doing) are both massive problems. They cause distrust and they are a major source of in-fighting in the sustainability world.
What advice/tips do you have for clients?We don't have to post everyday, and we don't have to be an 'influencer' to use content marketing as a foundational building block of your company.
When is your busy season?Q1 & Q4
What keeps you up at night?How to cut through the noise to reach our ideal clients. There are a lot of agencies out there that don't know the nuance with sustainability and they end up worse off.
How do you market yourself to grow/expand your business?Cold email, connecting with people through networking.
How involved are you in the community?We spend time actively connecting with people in the sustainability world, connecting them to each other, and interviewing people on our podcast, EnvironMental with Dandelion.
What is your favorite not for profit or charity?We've supported both the Forest Conservation Fund (fundforests.org) & the Pollinators (thepollinators.org) with our 1% for the Planet membership.
What advice would you give to someone thinking of getting into this business?Know what you stand for and who you want to work with. Don't compromise. Don't lie.
What do you enjoy doing in your free time?I love to read and garden and spend time making interesting food and cocktails
